Don’t Take Coffee for Granted
Happy International Coffee Day!
I had my first sip of coffee when I was nearly 40 years old. I was raised Mormon so drinking coffee was right up there with some of the worst sins imaginable. I often get asked “why coffee”? I can only respond that I have no fucking idea. Joseph Smith came up with the idea while writing his Bible fan fiction series. In the Mormon church it’s defined as “hot drinks”. The church leadership eventually determined that means coffee and tea. 🤷🏻♂️
Ever since that first cup I became a coffee snob in record time. I’ve mourned the lost years of drinking coffee. I look forward to that first cup every day. So here’s those magic beans that make my life better. And go fuck yourself Joseph Smith.
